The Davos conference staff wrote up Ten websites that will change the world.

The panel came up with a few more than ten. I believe these are in the order presented.

1 ReadWorld.com simultaneous translation of English into Chinese, brought the Web – most of which is written in English – to the country with the largest population in the world
2 eggweb.com  represent US farmers and enable them to sell their produce on-line.
3 DrudgeReport.com   uncovered and published news in advance of the established media
4 Whitehouse.gov encouraged transparency in government
5 forestworld.com   brought enlightened production and marketing methods to potentially damaging operations.
6, 7, 8  amazon.com  (books), bluemountain.com  (electronic greetings cards) and webnoize.com  (information about the digital music business) brought products and information to markets in revolutionary ways
7 davosnewbies.com written by one man, showing  individuals could bring their skills to a huge audience
8 geoworks.com  claiming ownership of the intellectual property that is propelling Internet development, and are demanding licence fees.
9 maps.vix.com blacklisting sites and blackholing their email. "Vix is the sheriff, but you can't vote him out if you don't like what he does,"
10.   ICANN.org
11. stanford-online.stanford.edu Distance university
12. avu.org Distance university in Africa
