This is disgusting.

How could they possibly believe that this would hold up in any court? Yeesch- do they think take on the credit card industry? Has Bezos ever placed an order on the telephone with a credit card? I'd say that counts as "placing a purchase order via a communications network".

Or is Bezos just snapping up patents because it looks good to non-tech-savvy venture capitalists, who he wants to invest in his company. That might partially explain the incredible growth of Amazon despite no hope of making a profit in the near future.
