The problem is that there's large overlap between the 'Java is the greatest language since sliced bread' camp, the 'Linux is the greatest OS since sliced bread' camp, and the 'being cross-platform is Good Thing' camp; whereas VB developers admit and don't particularly care that they're developing a single-platform solution.
