FWIW, when I read the article I definitely interpreted sender of profane emails as different from the catcaller. To wit, the blue, bold subheading, and the shift that occurs here:"At least he didn't accuse me of taking payments from BillG or being part of the Great Microsoft Conspiracy that supposedly brought down OS/2. That's the favorite past-time of a nut job...."
After this point, the article is about the person who accuses the writer of "taking payments from BillG," and *not* about the person who *didn't* make those accusations.
