It's not bogus. It allows you to analyze the reaction independent of the context. That's suprisingly important.The fact that we are forming opinions of these people and this situation with no true content should be a wake-up call to those people that say 'content is everything'. It's not.
You are correct that it could be a poorly timed shot. Perhaps Gates just farted - audibly. Moritz and Muglia are doing their level best to not laugh, and drop their guard because of it. Paluzzo turns to see who the culprit is. Ballmer is pissed off because his boss just farted and he doesn't dare laugh and has to suffer until the air clears.
Meetings do indeed have these moments. And we just learned that it's okay for a picture like this to exist, so long as it is brief. But if it isn't, how to you prevent this picture from existing any longer than necessary?
