I disagree. The entire snafu is based on the answer to this one question: "By what right did a handful of developers try to redefine something that's in use by hundreds of developers?"

Start there. It's the nastiest bit of BS I've ever seen in the software business, coming from a company with a major holier-than-thou attitude. What gall they have to point the finger at me. I want some guarantee that this isn't going to happen again, before I put any more effort into working on this, and I won't do it based on the premise that nothing seedy happened.

After we dispense with this, then let's talk about strategies for evolving RSS, with everyone with a stake suitably empowered.
