Yes, I use a PalmPilot Professional. I've been very pleased with the AvantGo client's formatting of The New York Times and News.com. I believe both of those sites did special work to prepare a template for AvantGo's particular needs.

Since you, too, can prepare a template with ease, I'd suggest simply going to: http://www.avantgo.com/partners/content/styleguide/StyleGuide980527.htm for their tips.

I don't know if these guidelines are more widely applicable (i.e., more than just AvantGo), but...
