I think you'd hate the IPO process. The "quiet period" rules would require you to hang up Scripting News for a couple of months around the IPO date. And if you ever miss earnings targets, you'll be subjected to so much flamage that it'll make the Apple ends cloning and impeachment flame wars look positively respectful by comparison.

That said, go for it! You've been tending to UserLand for a decade now. You certainly deserve to reap some rewards.
