Console.root <-> sysop problem...
Author: David Glenn Posted: 5/10/1999; 5:53:09 PM Topic: Console.root <-> sysop problem... Msg #: 5967 Prev/Next: 5966 / 5968
I have followed the docs for setting up news.root and console.root but I get the following error when I try to 'Update Today's News':Sorry! There was an error: The server, 192.168.88.74, returned error code 4: Can't set the news because you are not the sysop of this news site.
I've an entry in members.root/default/users with a password. All this data matches the data in news.root/#newsSites/sysopMail and sysopMemberOfGroup as well as console.root/consoleData/servers/sampleNewsServer/sysopEmail and sysopPassword (whew). What else makes a person a sysop and how is console.root confused about it?
thx dave
