Console.root, creating a new story

When I use Console.root to create a 'New Story', I'm running into a strange problem.

I can post stories fine. up to a certain length. When I pass about twenty lines of text, I get an error message saying 'poorly formed XML - - character 300'.

It's always character 300!

I think things I post through the Console.root get indexed. Might this be throwing the error? Is there a 'timeout' setting, or a setting where I might disable indexing these posts?
