Certain deployments of mainResponder on Userland sites seems to violate Jakob Nielson's Top Ten Mistakes of Web Design (http://www.useit.com/alertbox/990711.html).

I confess that I don't fully understand how the technology works, but I'm not convinced all the "tree$1.2.3" stuff is necessary. Isn't there some way around this?
