Well, Dave, you manifest the Slashdot Effect itself, actually. No need to create a "Scripting News Effect". The term is generic; in the abstract for the article you mentioned (you actually linked to the article's addendum; the main article is at http://www.linuxgazette.cz/issue38/adler1.html), the "Slashdot Effect" is defined as "...the Slashdot Effect. This effect is known as the spontaneous high hit rate upon a web server due to an announcement on a high volume news web site."So it doesn't just have to be Rob's site. He just got the name. *grin*
