Yeah, it's hard to insist that a company that has paid big bucks to develop software, then turn around and give it away. The successful open-source projects all started out open-source, built largely with volunteer labor. There are ways to make a project like that work economically, but a commercial project that's spent huge amounts of money in development has a bigger nut to crack.
