I don't know if their pages reflect this, but originally Everything was a vehicle for replacing or updating Slashdot. It's written by the same group. They are now on Everything2. Everything the original, sort of self-destructed under its own weight.All in all, it's a rather interesting idea. It's been compared to a user-written Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and when Douglas Adams actually started to create a website to do just that, the Everything crowd was naturally concerned.
