Phil has been teaching stuff for free for quite a while; the three weeks Ars Digita bootcamp is free, for example. He's quite up front about the job offer thing. On the other hand, check out http://www.photo.net/philg/school/tuition-free-mit.html to find out about the time he refunded tuition money after an MIT lecture. Free tution is important to him, for reasons other than his company.
