Live365 is cool, but Shoutcast is cooler! Instead of uploading files to some remote server, you can run your own server right from your machine - so you could do talk shows, spin your own cd's , whatever!The shoutcast server is free too. (not sure of commercial use...)
I listen to shoutcast like all day... works perfectly with winamp and macamp....
It also supports xml - so one might even in theory do an xml-rpc interface for it!
