The ChefMoz Dining Guide is a restaurant directory that is part of the DMOZ Open Directory Project, using the same standards and tools. A music directory could work just like that, with links to sites, MP3s, reviews, etc.

(Note: there are already directory categories for various music links, but the idea behind a site is a more interactive experience.)
