Yes, that's called hoisting.

When you hoist, the current bar cursor outline takes over the window. Dehoist undoes the last hoist. They can nest.

It's a stack-push. In practice I never use it, but it's there.

The human mind, esp the computer-using human mind, is very good at dealing with clutter. We're well-trained and weeded-out.
