And what about software Jonathan? Did the software industry go down the tubes because the users forced us to take off copy protection? Was it bad for us?

This is basically a parachute-less plane jump, and it's understandable that the music industry doesn't want to do it. We didn't either in the software business, but in the long term, if you don't do what your users want, they do it for themselves.
