On one hand, it might be nice to have some way of knowing which messages have been modified since you read them.

On the other hand, perhaps people should only edit their messages to correct errors. In that case, I wouldn't want to re-read a message just to see a simple correction. If you have something new to say, maybe you should just post a new message.
