Another idea for reducing message size would be to introduce optional shorter tag names. For example:
for , for , for and so on. A client (or server) could use the full tag names in debug mode and the shorter ones otherwise.

I find the other proposal, to send multiple calls in one HTTP request, very appealing. Another interesting use for this could be a batch mode, where the result of one call can be used in the next, and only the last result is returned to the client.
