Altern org has closed down leaving 47.000 independent site owners homeless. But even more, over 12.000 home pages have been abruptly closed down by major ISPs in the followup to the court case that ruled that ISP are liable for the content of the pages they host on their server. ISPs are suddenly scared that lawyers will seize the opportunity and sue them. So they close down every page that might be a cause for a court case, be it political, society, adult....

Quietly, these last 15 days, freedom of expression has taken a severe beating in France.....
