Jeez. I never liked websites that only worked right on one browser brand or version. I really, really don't like the idea of sites that require a specific hardware brand or CPU model.According to the story DW pointed to, the justification for requiring visitors to a site to have a P3 is to guarantee a suitably pleasant experience for processor-intensive site content. Excuse me? (1) How about letting the visitor decide what's acceptable enough for them? (2) Is there any reason a good PPC G3 or G4 couldn't do the trick?
The force behind this is Intel, shelling out bucks. Seems like they're taking lessons from Microsoft...
