The advantage of going with Caldera over RedHat is the approach. Caldera is specificially shooting for the newbie market this time around while RedHat is leaning towards servers. This starts to show through in a lot of very subtle ways.

Caldera also has "tweaked" KDE in a number of ways to make it even easier to use. RedHat has, too... but not to the same degree.
