One Q though is the reason that macros are not expanded (asside from the fact that they don't belong in XML) because the page is generated from a script?

Something like that. Maybe we should call html.processMacros before returning the text.. Might be a good idea.

Glad we're in synch. Prefs.root is easy and fun to work on. And it's a key component now, so it's getting maintained.
