The word is verklempt. I looked it up sometime ago in a Yiddish-English dictionary. It means feeling closed-in. Eg Standing in a Manhattan train during rush hour. However, recently I was listening to some Bach cantatas, and the word is used there. So maybe it's an old German word rather than a yiddish word? I don't know.
