I am just now digging more deeply into flash, and I believe that what you are looking for might be possible. But the problem will be with getting out of the app the file you want (i. e. posting the results). I will experiment some and see what I can come up with.

You know flash can read in any variables you like from a cgi encoded string? ?foo%20bar=baz&ggg=fff

etc.
