I have a job opening for a position working with a team of 5 others on internal websites and projects. Looking for a person who is strong in HTML, XML, and scripting (javascript and Frontier are big pluses!)

Web Technologist – HR Systems and Technology

Join a dynamic team focused on providing corporate solutions on a global level using web and Internet technology. Responsible for designing and developing database-driven, web applications accessed through Apple's Intranets.

As a member of the HRWeb team supporting the development of corporate systems and applications for Human Resources, you will work on challenging projects supporting web development activities for HR, make enhancements and develop new features for a leading edge web publishing system, and develop and maintain supporting web content and documentation. The successful candidate will have solid web technology skills as well as working knowledge of web development and related information technology. As a member of the project team, you will help implement quality systems solutions that effectively solve business needs. You must be able to work cross-functionally and possess excellent communication skills. Demonstrated content development and programming skills are required.

Responsibilities: Collaborates with internal web team to develop and maintain processes for producing material for Apples Intranet web sites and takes a lead in supporting the back-end systems. Responsible for system administration activities for web pre-production servers supporting the publishing of content for HRWeb running on Macintosh servers. Responsible for management and maintenance of web content in a production environment and writes code and web pages as needed. The position requires a thorough understanding of HTML, XML and several advanced scripting languages. Responsible for the programming and modification of applications supporting Intranet web solutions. Consults with internal HR staff and IS&T and their external contractors developing applications for web sites supporting web initiatives. Monitors best-practice techniques for web site management and communicates them to other technical staff and developers.

Qualifications: BS/BA degree in a technical/analytical field with strong utilization of computers desired but not required. 2 - 4 years related experience is preferred. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of web technologies and tools used for Internet/web development. They will be current with Internet/web standards. They may have professional programming experience but it is not required. Extensive knowledge of HTML and XML is required as is experience using scripting languages including javascript and/or Userland Frontier. Frontier scripting experience is a real plus! This person will also have very strong Macintosh development. Success requires a strong team player, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
