I prefer to call it "tit for tat": you can use my source if and only if I can use yours.

I have seen an essay on the Web (but lost the URL for it, alas) that explicitly compared the GPL's licensing strategies to the "tit-for-tat" strategy in the iterated Prisoner's Dilemma game.
