over 1 Gigaflops sustained. More to come...Does 4 32-bit instructions per cycle...
Can do 8 instructions per cycle in some cases...
running intel's processor tests for the PIII, G4 was 2.9 times faster.
400, 450, 500 mhz versions... ----
machines:
Processor -> Memory bus 3 times faster...
2x PCI throughput...
Rage 128 on AGP 2x...
Airport card port built-in... in highend model
New enclosure - silver, clear, graphite.
highend model has dvdram included...
BTO will be available... --
Demo: 600 mhz PIII vs. PMac G4 500 mhz....
including photoshop 5 plugin which senses G4 and loads "Velocity Engine" (like MMX)
PMac much faster (I'm on the audioo version because QT won't stream through the firewall) - 2X faster.
