What I think Adobe are using is the Ethernet Hardware Address which every PowerMac has thanks to built in Ethernet networking.

This is what's commonly called the "MAC Address", which is why it's so very confusing to people. Yes, both Macs and PC's (and everything with an Ethernet connection!) has a MAC Address.
