Jim, almost the exact thing happened to me here north of Atlanta about two weeks ago. I was allergic as a child, so I was worried too - but these didn't swell up at all. Itched for a week, though.

I didn't bother with trapping, I've got to say. I dumped gasoline down their hole, they won't be bothering me any longer. Grass wasn't growing too well anyway :-|
