WebTV must not be including a HOST header. That would make them one of the few browsers that doesn't do that.

The reason you're not seeing the misbehavior on www.scripting.com is that it is served on an old-fashioned server that doesn't do routing based on the HOST attribute.

I wonder what other browsers fail to set this?
