This is a very deep cross-platform issue between Win and Mac, not just in terms of rendering. I have a gdb on win and cannot easily work via webEdit on my Mac because of the different high ASCII sets.

Some thoughts on solutions:

  • Add a platform tag to webEdit.
  • xml-rpc should convert 8bit ASCII to the target platform
