On A List Apart, they ran a piece about XHTML for web developers, an eye-opener, I think, for anyone deeply involved with the W3C processes. This is what the simplest of the new specs looks like to a skilled web developer. Reality-check time.

In the end he concludes that the answer is no, he won't use XHTML, because it forces him to change his coding style and there are no immediate benefits.
