BTW, I think the monoculture argument is a bit tired, too. Most all houses in the U.S. use Alternating Current electricity. 99% of engineering effort in the U.S. building devices is geared to work with AC electricity. That sounds like a monoculture to me. We should start mandating that all houses carry DC and/or three-phase power at option of the owners so that we can capture the glorious wonders of biodiversity.
