I think it would be suicide for him to take the 5th, Dave. The *only* thing he has going for him right now is public opinion. As this mess drags on that will change, and with it so will support from within his own party. I think that if he took the 5th you'd see a 180 degree turn in opinion polls. As Alec said, invoking the 5th is universally accepted as an admission of guilt by the public, not as an exercise of your constitutional rights.
